About Me

My name is Anabel Leva. I am a Visual Designer from Toronto, Canada. I work with small and start up companies to help them develop strong brands through the use of web design, product design, and corporate design. I'm a graduate from George Brown College and Seneca College with diplomas in Graphic Design and Digital Media Arts. After my five years of studying I have developed strong creative, design, and interpersonal skills. I am always eager to learn about new technology and trending designs, and can often be found stalking the internet for great fonts.

Recently, I co-founded Let'z, a not-for-profit organization to unite and strengthen women in the LGBT community.

When I'm not working I love drinking tea, trying new foods, swimming, practicing Muay Thai, visiting the aquarium, travelling to Walt Disney World, and going on Disney cruises. I also own a mischievous rabbit named Flapjacks and a fat cat named Amy.

Kira Talent
August 2016 // March 2017

As the Marketing Designer I worked closely with the product designers to update and maintain a strong, consistent brand. I was responsible for creating all the marketing collateral including landing pages, e-books, and campaign assets.

While working on large scale projects I ran and participated in design sprints, attended user feedback sessions, and worked closely with the product manager.

Graphic Designer
July 2014 // March 2016

As Full-Stack Designer I was a crucial part of the development team and was responsible for the design of all products and applications. I worked closely with the developers and CEO to understand their target users and create experiences that would be enjoyable for them. As the company continued to grow I continued to design and develop contemporary products that grow along with them.

Being the lead designer provided me with the opportunity and flexibility to work on a variety of projects ranging from printed corporate documents to web applications and even apparel design. I constantly learned new skills and technologies to get projects done more efficiently.

Graphic Design Intern
PharmaSystems Inc.
May 2013 // December 2013

As Graphic Design Intern I worked closely with the Creative Manager on a variety of projects and participated regularly in meetings where I pitched my designs to influential members of the company. I used my branding, layout, and illustration skills to design marketing material such as sell sheets, promotional magnets, infographics, and advertisements for print, while learning new skills like bilingual design along the way. I created concepts for various product packaging and company product catalogue covers.

I was also responsible for photographing bulk and packaged products. These images were then edited and optimized to be used in the printed catalogue and online e-commerce store.

Design & Photography Intern
Plunder Ventures
January 2012 // August 2012

As a Photography Intern I photographed bulk products and a longboarding event called Walk the Plank, then edited and optimized the photographs for web.

As a Design Intern I created web and advertisement banners, edited and optimized stock images for web, and maintained the Facebook page, Wordpress and Tumblr blogs.

Production Designer
April 2016 // June 2016

As a Production Designer I worked closely with several senior designers to support them throughout the design process. My main responsibilities were modifying iOS designs for Android and revising designs based on client feedback. I also worked on internal documents, presentation decks, and ads for print and web.

While participating in daily team status meetings I learned about user experience strategy and product management; as well as other skills like communication, accountability, and teamwork.

Web, Graphics & Flash Designer
March 2014 // June 2014

As Web & Graphics Designer my main responsibility was to update the products on the Rose E Dee website and e-commerce content management system. I scanned, edited, and organized images of new fabrics to create online purchase orders for internal company use.

I also created original content and photographed fabrics in creative ways to be used in blog posts.

Video Editor & Videographer
Everlasting Moments
April 2012 // September 2012

As a Video Editor I was in charge of organizing unedited wedding videos and developed a system for the video editing department to follow. While working closer with the manager I created a template for editing long (full documentary) wedding videos and trained new members of the video editing team to use it. I edited short wedding videos to music and edited corrections along with clients to their specifications.

I also captured and trans-coded footage from memory cards and tapes, assembled and synced several different angles of raw footage to speed up editing, cataloged wedding footage, and organized the internal networks and external hard drives.

As a Videographer I shot second or third angle video at weddings using either a Sony Z7U or Canon 5D, camera. When required, I was also a second angle photographer at weddings.
