My name is Anabel Leva. I am a multidisciplinary UI & UX Designer from Toronto, Canada. I work with agencies and startup companies to help them develop strong brands through the use of product design, web design, and marketing design. I’m a graduate of the Graphic Design program at George Brown College and Digital Media Arts program at Seneca College. After several years of working and studying I have developed strong creative, design, problem solving, and collaborative skills. I am always eager to learn about new technology and design methodologies, and can often be found stalking the internet for great fonts.
I’m capable of working on multiple projects at a time and thrive in fast-paced, agile, and lean environments. I believe that collaboration is the key to great design and love working with other passionate people, participating in kick off meetings, or running design sprints. Since design is so user-centered, I believe every design has the ability to impact someone’s life and that we’re problem solvers, not pixel-pushers.
When I'm not working I love trying new foods, drinking tea, swimming, practicing Muay Thai, visiting the aquarium, travelling to Walt Disney World, and going on Disney cruises. I also own a handsome cat named Harley and a fat cat named Amy.
UI & UX Designer

I worked closely with the president and CTO to design the features of a new productivity tool in a scrum-based, agile environment. I was responsible for designing low fidelity mockups, rapid wireframing, and presenting concepts to stakeholders. I also conducted user interviews, created personas, mapped out user journeys, and focused in on users pain points based on competitive analysis research.

I worked with several agencies like KBS+, BTA Advertising, and Pivot Design Group as a freelance UI/UX and Visual Design contractor. In these fast-paced environments I became an instant member of the team and was able to dive straight into projects. I collaborated with senior designers and art directors to create high fidelity mockups, wireframes, sitemaps, and various marketing materials.

I was responsible for creating all the marketing collateral including, landing pages, e-books, and campaign assets. I also worked with the product designers to maintain a strong, consistent brand across our corporate website and web apps. While working on large scale web projects I ran and participated in design sprints, attended user feedback sessions, and worked closely with the product manager.

I worked in a scrum-based, agile environment with senior designers and projects. My main responsibilities were adapting designs for Android and revising designs based on client feedback. I also worked on internal documents, presentation decks, and ads for print and web. While participating in team status meetings I learned about user experience strategy and product management.
Full Stack Designer

As Full Stack Designer I was a crucial part of the development team and was responsible for the design of all products and applications. I worked closely with the developers and CEO to understand their target users and create experiences that would be enjoyable for them. Being the lead designer provided me with the flexibility to work on a variety of projects ranging from printed corporate documents to web applications and even apparel design.
Web, Graphics & Flash Designer

As Web & Graphics Designer my main responsibility was to update the products on the Rose E Dee website and e-commerce content management system. I scanned, edited, and organized images of new fabrics to create online purchase orders for internal company use. I also created original content and photographed fabrics in creative ways to be used in blog posts.
Graphic Design Intern

As Graphic Design Intern I worked closely with the Creative Manager on a variety of projects and participated regularly in meetings where I pitched my designs to influential members of the company. I used my branding, layout, and illustration skills to design marketing material such as sell sheets, promotional magnets, infographics, and advertisements for print, while learning new skills like bilingual design along the way. I created concepts for various product packaging and product catalogue covers.

As a Design Intern I created web and advertisement banners, edited and optimized stock images for web, and maintained the Facebook page, Wordpress and Tumblr blogs.
As a Photography Intern I photographed bulk products and a longboarding event called Walk the Plank, then edited and optimized the photographs for web.

As a Digital Media Arts student I learned about the different facets of graphic design using a variety of software (Adobe Creative Suite, Autodesk 3DS Max, Final Cut Pro, and Pro Tools). I also learned about the importance of social media, having a strong presence on the web, and making connections with people in the industry.
